Soup and Rain…

This summer has been a fantastic summer, we haven’t done a ton of adventure type stuff, like camping or hiking, but we have gotten a lot done around the house, traveled a lot, and had school (Trav).  So now that Labor Day has come and gone, we say goodbye to summer.  I am sort of surprised to say I am pretty excited to have summer on the outs, fall rolling in and the winter just around the corner.  Trav and I had just mentioned earlier today that we want to start working on our winter chili recipe, a very fall and winter dish.

On that note, I have been on a mission to step up our dinners.  Last week we had three very yummy dinners, steak on Monday, BBQ Meatloaf on Tuesdy and Spaghetti and Meatballs on Friday.  Today I made a soup/stew which I call my everything but the kitchen sink soup.  This soup had three italian sausages, over a pound of ground beef, 1/2 a red pepper, half an onion, celery, sliced carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, fresh basil, fresh parsley, kidney beans and TONS of beef stock and beef bouillon.  It was delicious if I do say so!  Which is perfect since the fall is coming around, the rain has been coming most nights and slowly the seasons are changing.

Here is to a fantastic Indian Summer, an even more amazing fall and the seasons of crockpots, soups, chili and yummy warm food.
